Pupils who show that they have specific needs connected with their learning or their behaviour will be placed on the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) Register. Each pupil on this register will be given an SEN level. These levels can be
The School’s Special Educational Needs’ Coordinator will arrange meetings termly to review the course of action for every child on the School’s SEN Register and to consider the appropriate level of provision for each child.
Any Smeeth pupils who show particular talent in any area of the curriculum are placed on the School’s Gifted and Talented Register. They are then given opportunities to display their ability during school time and, where appropriate, are put in contact with out of school agencies and clubs. Details are also passed on to secondary schools at the end of Year 6.
